My name is Sean Muponesi, a BSc (Hons) Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics student at Arrupe Jesuit University in Harare, Zimbabwe, currently maintaining a 3.8 GPA.
I have recently been accepted as a delegate to the Yale Model African Union (YMAU) in Accra, Ghana β a highly competitive continental platform that brings together outstanding young leaders from across Africa to debate and shape policy solutions for our continent.
For me, this opportunity represents more than attending a conference.
It is about:
Representing Zimbabwe on a respected international stage
Bringing a cybersecurity and digital sovereignty perspective into African policy discussions
Advocating for youth-led tech leadership in Africa
Over the past year, I have worked tirelessly to prepare for opportunities like this. I was named Best Male Speaker at the AJU Intervarsity Debate Competition (2025) and Best Delegate at AJUMUN (2025). Alongside this, I have led cybersecurity projects including secure messaging systems, digital forensic investigations, and zero-trust voting system models.
I was honored to receive a participation fee waiver from the YMAU team. However, as a student, I am not financially buoyant enough to cover the remaining costs.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
I am raising $1,200, which will cover:
βοΈ Round-trip flight from Harare to Accra
π¨ Accommodation during the conference
π Local transport and essential conference logistics
Every contribution β large or small β moves me closer to representing Zimbabwe at this continental forum.
Why This Matters
Many young African leaders are prepared, qualified, and passionate β but limited by access to funding.
Your support is not just funding travel.
It is:
β’ Investing in youth leadership
β’ Supporting African digital sovereignty
β’ Empowering a cybersecurity student to contribute to policy discussions
β’ Ensuring Zimbabwe is represented in important continental dialogue
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign can make a powerful difference.
Thank you for believing in education, leadership, and the potential of African youth.
Letβs ensure opportunity does not stop at acceptance.
